Description of Services Provided:

211 is an Information and referral line based on the individual's needs. The staff at 211 will generate a list of referrals based on the needs.

 

Resources include but are not limited to housing, homeless assistance, utilities, COVID-19, and mental health.

Description of Services Provided:

Cox Learning Center is a child care program that takes children six weeks to 12 years old.  The Preschool program uses a creative curriculum. You do not have to be an employee at Cox to use their child care services.

Additional information:

There will be an enrollment interview. The parents or guardian will have paperwork to fill out for state needs (pick up at site), a physical form (picked up at the learning center) -take to the pediatrician, and provide immunization records.

Description of Services Provided:

First Presbyterian is a childcare program for 3-4-year-olds. To be eligible for the 3-year-old class, children must be at least three years of age before August 1 of the year they enroll, and they must be potty trained. These classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday, in morning or afternoon sessions.  To be eligible for the 4-year-old class, children must be at least four years of age before August 1 of the year they enroll, and they must be potty-trained. These classes meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning or Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoon.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) mission is to assist low-income households who have an energy crisis. Other resources are available at OACAC; please contact OACAC to see what is currently available.

  • Complete and turn in the application

  • Must provide social security cards for each household member.

  • Provide copies of utility and heating and cooling for fuel sources.

  • Provide proof of all income sources for all household members.

  • Provide copies of the most recent Federal Income Tax Form 1040

  • After the listed steps, send your completed application and required documents to the LIHEAP agency that processes applications in the county. The Crisis Center of Taney County, Inc.'s mission is to provide quality residential and non-residential services to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. 

 

Services offered: 

The Crisis Center of Taney County is a 24-hour crisis hotline; 24-hour shelter access; transitional housing; crisis intervention; case management; support groups; court advocacy; personal advocacy; information and referrals; victim education; peer counseling; community education; transportation, including cab and bus fare; emergency financial assistance; prescription assistance; food, clothing and personal hygiene supplies. Group meetings are available for anyone in need on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00-7:00.  Childcare is available during the group meetings.

Description:

Exhibits at the visitor center include a state-of-the-art interactive map of Table Rock Lake, beautiful artistic murals, and a replica of an Ozarks bluff complete with local flora and fauna. A Native American artifact exhibit and Ozark's dioramas are fascinating features of the interpretive center. An interactive water safety exhibit demonstrates the importance of wearing a life jacket, and an expansive cut-away model reveals the inner workings of a hydroelectric dam. The fascinating history of the Corps of Engineers rounds out the exhibits.

Description:

Located 5.3 miles west of Route 65 on Branson’s strip (Route 76), this 1,534-acre area invites visitors to walk on one of several trails that cross this mostly forested site and enjoy the natural beauty that has drawn visitors to this area for generations. A 0.4-mile trail leads from the main parking lot (south end of the area) to a 40-foot viewing tower. A longer trail, the Henning Homesteaders’ Trail, begins at the north parking lot (accessible from Route 248) and takes visitors past the remains of several homestead sites.

Shepard of the Hills Fish Hatchery

Description:

The hatchery includes a free conservation center, where the public can learn more about trout culture, aquatic life, fishing, and the Missouri Department of Conservation's role in aquatic resource management. Conservation Center hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Closed Sunday, Monday, and all state holidays.

 

Approximately three miles of trails are available on the hatchery grounds for hiking and wildlife viewing. Some of these trails also provide fishing access to Lake Taneycomo. A concrete boat ramp and two picnic areas are also located in the same area.
