The Salvation Army Branson is a worship and community center that provides the local community with needed services. The Salvation Army has a food bank open to the community every Wednesday. People can visit this food bank location every 28 days. Please call to inquire about other additional resources, including utility and rent assistance.

Answer to Prayers Ministry is showing underprivileged families in the U.S. the love of God by blessing them with new clothing, hygiene kits, food, and blessing sacks throughout the year.

 

Answer to Prayers Ministry will provide two new outfits per child per month. All children must be present at Answers to Prayers Ministry to obtain clothing or resources during the initial meeting.

OACAC launched a project called the People's Pantry. The initiative aims to increase access to food amid economic hardship and limited resources. Stone and Taney county Neighborhood Center locations coordinated the placement and installation of an outdoor pantry available to the public 24/7. OACAC assists in keeping the pantry stocked and coordinates the upkeep. Canned food and non-perishable items are available at several locations.

Description of Services Provided:

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) offers a monthly benefit to help you buy food and food products, such as seeds and plants, to grow food. This monthly benefit is loaded to an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and cannot be withdrawn as cash. Your monthly benefit amount will depend on your income and the size of your household.

 

Other Important Information and Documents Needed to apply for SNAP:

  • Live in Missouri

  • Do not make more than the current income limit.

  • Current or three most recent paychecks

  • Proof of residency (copy of the lease, utility bill, etc.)

  • Have (or agree to apply for) a social security number for all members of your household

  • Do not own more than $2,500 in resources ($3,750 if everyone in your household is over 60 or disabled). Resources do not include your home, vehicle(s), life insurance, burial plots or prepaid burials, personal property that does not bring in an income, savings and pension plans, Indian and Alaskan Native payments, or any resources you do not have access to.

  • After the application has been received, a phone interview will verify the information and determine needed documents and eligibility.

  • You will typically know if you are approved for SNAP within 30 days. 

  • The Family Support Division will process your application and any supporting documentation as soon as they receive it. This can take up to 10 days. Once your application is processed, you will get a letter that lets you know if you are eligible for SNAP benefits or not.

  • In some emergency cases, you can get SNAP benefits in seven days or less. You will need to complete Section 2 of your SNAP application to see if you are eligible. You can also tell the Family Support Division if these questions apply to you when you submit your application.
